Rogue is no doubt pretty low end stuff. If you get lucky however, you might find a decent starter instrument. I have a rogue acoustic electric guitar that I've had for about 5 years and it's a great little guy with no real issues. I also have a fretless rogue bass that has the noisiest electronics of all time, despite the fact that I added proper shielding to the control cavity.

As far as I'm concerned, they are hit or miss though generally worth what you pay for. You might want to look at something with a little more consistant quality like an ibanez SG or a squier vm. These cost a little more than the rogue, but are still probably better deals. Check out the bass faq for a list of other starter basses to see what might be in your price range.
