Hey all. My amp (Carvin BX-600 with an Avatar 4x10) has been peaking (I only turn it to about 5 or 6) at practices. Today I tried to get to the root of the problem today and while playing the amp shut itself off after i slid up the neck. I read somewhere that compression helps reduce amp peaking, but even with the compressor on the amp turned on it still peaks. Anyone have any helpful ideas for my situation?
