Pedals can't achieve Slipknot's amazing tone. You need a Marshall MG.

As long as you stack a metalcore into the metalzone.

WRONG.

The only reason it exists is because drugs get people fucked up, and people love getting fucked up.

I think the production of their music is good, but the tone of the guitars could be achieved with a Marshall MG and a $300 Ibanez 7 string. It's your generic "Bass and Treble to 10, Mids to Zero, Gain to 10, Guitar to B" tone.

Like to say how? a lot of the tone comes from the production. It's a full tone, but by by no means a unique one. I've spent 5 minutes getting that tone. There are no tricks or secrets to it.

Maybe you "thought" you got the tone, or close to it, but you just contradicted yourself...

If the tone came from production, then how'd you get it in 5 minutes?

I'll also be the first to say that it's EASY to say that you nailed a particular tone, especially with particularly heavy tones, but a lot of the time you just can't catch the dynamics.

And what tone in Particular did you get in "5 minutes"?

People = ****? Vermillion? The Blister Exists? Surfacing? Duality? Psychosocial?

And I don't think production was that great on the first slipknot album... It's progressed in stages quite a bit since then.

Another thing to consider is their "live" tone, which I think is freakin killer..

Live I think they are a wall of mush. The production thickens the tone. And you still haven't said how it's different. And Duality for reference.

Because it's not just Bass and treble at 10 and mids at 0 with gain at 10. That's how it's different.

I've sat down with a lot of slipknot songs and have never even come close to those settings bro...

I'm not sure I'd even really like an amp that required you turning mids to 0 to get a tone like that..
