Can a VJ Head and Cab keep up with drums in terms of volume?

depends on the drummer. Is your drummer a muscular caveman? If yes, then it can't keep up.
If you have a drummer who likes to be considerate, then yes, if you crank it all the way up. I'd wait for the valve senor if i were you though. Or if you can find a valve standard.

what type of music, how many in the band?

light to average drumming, you can get away wt it. but it's not ideal.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

I typed "Valve Junior volume" into the search bar. The results were amazing.

Seriously, I think we get this question every day and twice on Sunday.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
