if you could pick three bands (alive or dead) to have a show in your hometown, what three would u choose?

the catch: They have to be 3 bands from completely different genres and the first band gets 20 min.s, the 2nd gets 40 and the 3rd gets an hour....

Mine would be Blink 182 (pop-punk) then Sublime (chill regea/ska) then RATM (rap/metal)

God I hate the word "chill" when it's used as an adjective.

"Brah, it's, like, so chill."

Anyways,

Open up with, Led Zeppelin.
Bring the set around to Opeth for some hardcore musik.
And close it with Guns n Roses (Old) to go out on a bang.

Those aren't completely different genres they're all rock bands.

This is a pointless thread, and has probably been done hundred times before (if not something very similar).

what kinda of set times are 20 40 and a hour those are really short what you expect them to play 1-2 songs, 3-4 songs and 6 songs respectively

I didn't read the first post, just the title.

There should be no rules, because then it wouldn't be my fantasy lineup.

Why?
Why do you lol at me?
Would that not be quite epically awesome to see the two most (living) awesome of Zeppelin play a set each, then follow it up by a full on performance of the entire band?? ('cept Bonham)

+1

There are no clear lines between genres. Unless you want to define some for us?

That said:
1. Artic Monkeys (pop/rock)
2. Nirvana (Grunge)
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers (seeing as we're going alive/dead, we'll say with John Frusciante AND Hillel Slovak)(Funk/rock)

I've seen Billy Talent live. Their guitarist is boring and needs a haircut.

Anyhoo.

Open up with the Pumpkins.
Move on to Pearl Jam for 3 hours.
Then finally, RATM to close.
I get very tense around apples...Well, I get very tense generally. I think I've fallen into the trap of blaming fruit.

Oh...
I see now...
then I have say I agree to this;

exactly, and its funny that the 3 bands were more or less the same people. i thought itw as a joke.

Hmm...

1) Warm up with Radiohead
2) Then, some old Guns'n'Roses (Matt Sorum, Slash, Axl, Duff and Izzy) to get the party going,
3) The headline would be Muse.

Awesome.

Hendrix.

Simply because none of them can perform as they did back then (especially Hendrix and the Beatles!).

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse and The Beatles and at the end they would play Never Gonna Give you Up together.

I would start off with some death metal like Linkin Park
Then I would kick of off with some European stuff like Korn
To finish it off, I would let the graduates from Berklee--Limp Bizkit--finish off the night with their original song Behind Blue Eyes

I know they suck, thats why I picked them to go ahead of Fallout Boy who sucks who will play ahead of Dream Theater who are Gods to put both those shi*ty bands in their place because they think they're great but they are not. They will be crushed by the power of Portnoy's drums, the devastating bass of Myung, the awesomeness of Rudess playing the keys, the greatness of Labrie's vocals, and last but not least, the pure genius and amazingness of Petrucci's guitar attack.
I want Billy Talent and Fallout Boy to suffer as they're made countless others suffer listening to that unrelenting bullsh*t.
