I have about $1500 to spend on a
bass. I play classic rock and punk. I like the Gibson EB-3 and the Thunderbird bass. I also like almost all Fender basses. What's the best for my style and price range?

classic rock and punk; if you like fender I'd recommend a nice p-bass, and have some cash left over. You might also look at some lakland and G&L p-bassesque models that are a little higher end (at least price wise) than even the american p-basses.

Go ahead and search bar "EB-3" or "thunderbird", and save yourself a lot of the comments this thread is going to fill up with over the next day or so.

G&L is a brilliant idea. I second the motion! L-2000, I suggest.

a Fender P bass will also fit, probably a little better with the punk than a G&L.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

you don't want to ask this forum about anything gibson but an american p-bass would work nicely

American Standard P Bass. Its the best bass money can buy plus you will have a good chunck of coin left after.
#6
Yeah, I'm starting to like the P Bass, how's the American standard?
