Is it worth $384. I just want to know! I have $500 but I would rather not spend it all.

epiphone SGs are really really good quality guitar,s if you're paying more for a single pickup guitar because it's gibson you're a closed minded stuck up crap who doesn't know anything about guitars. It's your money in the end, but theres no point in buying a Melody Maker from 385 when you could get a G400 for 325.

For that price if it's gibson-made it's probably a good slab of wood to start with, take a p-90, cut the pickguard accordingly, and you've got a nice guitar, or a vintage humbucker, the single coil is the only downside of that short & sweet guitar, since we use some of our guitars only for the bridge sound of it, for less than 500 bucks you can get just that.
I love music, if music would be a girl then I'd date her, until then let's get back on Earth

What's your problem. I just don't want any Epi SG... I could buy a Gibson SG for $500 used...

then do that. In all truths, Epi SG's have fewer problems with headstocks breaking off, since the headstocks are scarf jointed instead of carved out of the same piece of wood.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
