Do you think they would fit if you pulled the amp out the chassis installed them and popped the chassis back in...

Exactly how much longer are they? Were are they hitting? Pic's if you have them...

I have a quick question, even if you're able to get them in there yourself, are you planning on biasing the amp by yourself too?

if your not planning on biasing it yourself, then might as well have whomever is going to do that help you out.

If you are going to bias it yourself, then i hope you can solve this power ttube problem or you my friend might be getting crispy soon....

You CAN'T bias a 5150 unless it's modded.

I put JJ 6L6s in my 5150 Combo when I had it and they fit perfectly fine. Are you sure they're 6L6s?

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Ahh ok. That I didn't know. I had heard that was the case with the 6505's though..

6505 is the same thing as the 5150.

The 5150 II/6505+ can be biased without mods, but the sweep is very small so not really any point to it anyway.

Those are the same ones I put in mine... Should be the same size as the 6L6s that are in there already.

It's worth pointing out that there are inconsistancies in modern tube construction/production. I have a Quad of new Sovtek 6L6GC's, one of which is half a centimeter taller than the other three. *shrug

True enough! Even so, a half a centimeter more should fit in a 5150...

And no, I just put them straight in there.

This may sound stupid but do the tubes say 6L6GC on them because there is a chance that they may have shipped you the wrong product.
