I traded my phase 90 for my friends washburn practice guitar. Its got two humbuckers and its a pretty basic guitar. Now I'm more of a jazz and classic rock guy but I wanted to use this for soundgarden type stuf and alternate tunings. I'm planning on getting better pickups and heavier strings (I won't do to much lead work on this guitar cuz I can't solo in altertered tunings). Is there anything else i can do?

why? that seems like a waste, i wish i had a phase 90.

IMO a squier fat strat is better than any washburn practice guitar

I never use the phase 90 all i need is a wah and a fuzz face. Maybe if I where to join a van halen tribute band but I play jazz and fusion mostly so its a waste for me.

These are just suggestions, but... repaint? change out hardware(bridge, tuning keys, knobs)? just make it look like you'd want it. It's just a crappy guitar, why not try to totally fix it up to what you'd want?

There's not really anything else you can do for the sound, now, you just make it look cool
