Wow, gives a great name to all 08'ers....

what a shame
to TS some strings are treated differently, some are made of different materials, really switch around until you find your favs.

No doubt some will have better sustain.. though most all of it will be from your amp.

With a larger string gauge you are going to increase the output of your guitar...so it'd be slightly louder, which can be perceived as more sustain. I would look at a compressor pedal.

Nigel Tufnel: The sustain, listen to it.
Marty DiBergi: I don't hear anything.
Nigel Tufnel: Well you would though, if it were playing.

im preety sure thicker strings have a little more sustain, but there not as comfortable for lead IMO, its more about the body woods density and the pickups, my ernie ball super slinkys (42 - 9) have got some fine sustain on my strat, and single coils arent the best for sustain either

The guitar will produce more sustain than string guages, however, it would make sense to me that heavier guage strings (with more mass) would actually increase sustain a bit. But then again, it would all depend on the tension and tuning of the strings as well..

It would hardly be noticeable I think though. Just get a compressor..

Best thing I have invested in for sustain is a oversized bell brass block for my floyd. Its f*cking amazing and does work..

i dont have a floyd

^Someones mad than an 08'er came up with a decent joke.

Spinal Tap fits in any situation, you cant knock it.

You prabobly wont notice a difference in sustain just through different strings, the things that affect it are mainly what wood your guitars made out of and your amp.
Was it polemically sent,

heavier gauge strings have more mass therefore they vibrate more resulting in more sustain
