advertising can't harm anyone.
1. You're surfing the internet.
2. You're browsing through the UG forums.
3. You're reading now.
5. You didn't notice that there was no #4.
6. You just checked it.
7. Now you're having a lil smile.

Only for modelling/advertising

Not for arrogance (there's really no need to wear one at a gig for example, people there already know who you are...if they want a t-shirt they'll get one)
Some people wait a lifetime, some simply accept...

...Some of us crash land, some of us eject...

...Some restore the blood flow, some just let it go and bleed...

...Some of us obsess, some move on to something new

1st rule of being in a band: Never wear your own merch, even if you have nothing to wear. Smell like **** before you wear your shirts.

and heres the argument
i dont think i would wear my own shirts for the fact that ppl would think im in it for the popularity or something, which is false.

Huh so many people against it? What's wrong with it? It's just advertising your band and getting your name seen, I don't think it's wrong even when you're on stage as long as not everyone's wearing one.

no
ive seen tons of bands that wear their shirts on stage, even local bands
dont make up random rules for being in a band
Vikings? What Vikings? We are but poor, simple farmers. The village was burning when we got here, and the people must have slain themselves.

It's not that I dislike it as such, more that I think a regular shirt is more respectable.

It's sort of like wearing a t-shirt with a picture of yourself on it...

To advertise yourself or get your name scene, you can do loads more things like get a bass drum sticker with your band logo. Get a huge banner with your band name/logo on it and hang it behind the drummer.
That will look cool n less pretentious.

Wearing your own band t-shirt is a big no-no.
Wear other band's t-shirts on stage. But not your own.
