So I've decided to start working on my finger picking(and thus also my tab reading) and the problem is I can't find any good songs that are picking songs. Can you guys give me any decent suggestions? Forget about Nothing Else Matters - I don't like that song so I can't force myself to learn it(I've tried). Classical music or pop rock - I don't care, just as long as the song is picked :p

Guess picking isn't very popular in music these days huh?

So can anyone help me please? I have an acoustic(obviously) but no amp. Also I don't have a capo(sadly). Recommend away!

Dust in the Wind by Kansas has a cool fingerpicking arrangement.....Broken by Seether has a melodic little peice as well......Thats one classic song and one modern pop rock song.....Try taking one of your favorite songs and come up with your own fingerpicking arrangement....Ive done this with alot of songs at open mics

The first song i learned to pick was Walk Away by Ben Harper, its really easy. Then you can upgrade to Tears in Heaven by Clapton... there's also a really pretty finger pickin' arrangement for Wonderful Tonight.

Forgot about Signe, pretty much the whole damned unplugged cd is really good.

Thanks guys! There should be enough here to get me started and going. I'll have at it!

But if anyone feels the need to suggest some more songs, then go right ahead.

My first song was Blackbird by the Beatles. It took me about 3 days to get down perfectly after I was about 2 months into playing. I actually got some blisters on my right hand from practicing too, haha. Good times.
