Do the gibson 496t and 498t pickups handle down tunings well? It will be a few months after I buy the guitar till I can get some SD's, so thats why I need to know. I play in standard, D standard, and C standard. Thoughts?

if you eq the amp the right way it won't muddy up at all.

the stock 496t pup is generally pretty hot since it's not covered

By covers you mean the gold covers? THe les paul custom has covers on both neck and bridge pickups.

I just hear some pickups dont handle down tunings well, especially since im going down to C. How would I eq the amp to make it not muddy?
