Im not too fond of the tone I get when I use the OD on my boss ME-50 infront of the peavey valveking 112 (probably because its digital, maybe getting a bad monkey soon instead) so I put the me-50 in the effects loop for the delay/modulation effect which sound much better.

Just fiddling around with it and I found a good tone using the od in the effects loop. Settings are volume 10 oclock, gain 3 oclock) Now, im guessing its because I'm getting a low volume power tube break up, am i right? Giving that nice warm tone. Question is, is this bad for the power tubes? Because I know people don't usually put ODs in the effects loop.

It's not bad for anything. So if you like the sound, enjoy it.
