i bought a classical guitar made by a company i've never heard of, Oscar Schmidt. i got it for 40 usd, but it's in pretty bad shape.

the neck is basically falling off and the bridge is ****ty, the itonation is off and the action is higher than any action i've ever seen.

so all of that will be easy to fix. just wondering though, can i use acoustic strings on it? i'm not sure how it would sound or affect the bridge or neck.

is there anything else i could do myself to fix up this guitar? i was thinking of taking it into a music store near me and seeing what they could do with it, but i'm not sure what that would cost.

phone the music stire and ask, I dont imagine the neck would support the strings all that well if its already falling off. ASK THE MUSIC STORE
