Basically a surge strip with more tricks up its sleeve. Think like, the Batman of surge strips. It knocks out any noise from "dirty power" and helps to protect sensitive gear from changes in power flow. Usually they are rackmounted, but not always. I use a Furman PL-8 for this. Its pretty sweet. Powers my HUSH, my EQ and my pedalboard. It really does knock the noise floor from the pedal power down a good bit. It also has pull out lights for dark stages, for adjusting controls and such. And It has a gooseneck light in the back so that I can swap, or change cables inside the rack case.
