"If you've nothing nice to say, come sit with me."
I press chalk to the street and draw a door
of make-believe and Dramamine, but
you only pour laughter from your lips and
scrape the knob away.
Heel toe, heel toe.

A mother calls in her child, with
a voice like the earth leashing the sun,
dragging her by the collar to the basement.
The dranpipe mutters something like “Hell
hath no fury--”
You interrupt, nodding, high-browed,
with “No, none at all.”

But all I can think, as I spray my longhand
over the walkway and side, is that
writing is like coming home to find the fish is dead.

wishing for the cool of night

until they know every inch of me
and have hollowed me out completely.
naw, naw, I am merely left conquistador-like
in my approach to life.
now my ballpoint has the weighted feel of a knife

if they bled, then we’re breathing the blood right now.
the same blood that spills through every open

every industrial chimney stack.

But soon to be forgotten
this round wasn't quite as strong from my POV... however still solid. I've never really gotten into the last one... despite its appearance quite often in the comps. I may have liked it at one point, but the left right thing just doesn't hit for me anymore.

2 is solid. But not on par with 1 and 3.

1 was a bit to random, though some of the imagery was good as were the ideas. I just wish I could have seen how it tied together.

it was a battle between 1 and 3 for me too. i pretty much just agree with the above post, except i voted 1 instead.
Same with others.
Two, I think, is more finished. A solider, overall better, read. Yet it doesn't have the punch of one and three.
One and three... one and three.
Three. It's a bit.
But it's good.
There's only one thing we can do to thwart the plot of these albino shape-shifting lizard BITCHES!
Three and two were good but one just struck me. Beautiful.
On the eight day we spoke back...

let there be sound.
I thought three was the best of them....
