ok well once I get my iceman IC-300, Im planning on doing some custom stuff on it, and Im planning on putting a trem on.

first I was thinking floyd rose but

1.I hear that routing it and putting it on would be way to tough

2. I cant afford one

then I was thinking a kahler but they're way to expensive.

So whats a good tremelo that would NOT be heavily used. thats pretty cheap, and isnt really that hard to install on an iceman?

Don't < win
Agile ps 900

you can get can get a pretty good kahler off of ebay. just make sure it is an authentic kahler and the right model for you.

i got a flatmount from the 80's a while ago for $110. works PERFECTLY.

maybe bigsby if you get roller saddles and like bigsbys
dont take any guff from these bastards man

well I was looking at bigsby tremelos, and they have one that works on the iceman specifically

Are they easy to install? the price is around my price range (100$).

Would kahlers require any routing? and what would the best model kahler be for an ibanez iceman IC-300?

Kahlers DO require routing, but not anywhere near as much as a Floyd Rose.

would it be something that me and my dad could do?

correct me if im wrong, but routing requires cutting out a chunk of wood right?

do bigsbys require any routing?

Bigsbys don't require routing but also won't do divebombs or anything drastic.

check guitarfetish.com for cheap things like that, and they'll be of okay/decent quality.

Kahlers require a route that looks like this: Bigsby's don't require any routing, but can do at most 1/2 step in either direction.

do you think you and your dad could do this?

LP Addict used a drill (that's a pic from one of his threads), but I'd suggest a router.

I can go 1 step down with my bigsby, and i think almost 1 step up.

I suppose you're right, but it's still not floyd rose-style divebombs and squeals.

ok well my dad says he knows all about routing, and that hes pretty sure he has a router.

He said that doing a kahler wouldnt be that hard so I guess im going for a kahler.

What do you guys think the best model kahler would be for an IC-300 iceman?

I would think the 2300 would be the way to go, but since those studs are there, maybe a 2200.

I'm not sure if this belongs here, but I feel it doesn't need its own thread.
Would it be possible to put a floyd rose on a Gibson SG. I was reading this thread and thought that would be sick and I'm getting an SG at sometime.
Thanks,

There has already been a bunch of threads concerning the installation of floyd roses on SGs. So thanks for not making another one. The SG is too thin to take a standard FR. Im not sure, but I do believe that there are FRs with shorter blocks, but dont take my word for it.
