So I was playing today, and notice that there was hum (I guess its always been there, but I couldn't tell because before today I was using a spider3), and when I touched any of the metal parts of the guitar, it went away. I assume it is a grounding problem. It occurs on every one of my pickups. I put in a bridge pickup about a month ago, so I may have screwed something up.

I opened up the back, and there is 1 wire that is just kind of floating in the cavity, and it was like that forever, so I did not knock it loose or anything, but everything else is in place solid. The wire STARTS on he volume pot (like where you would ground something, not on the actual switch part), and leads to nowhere, any idea why they put it in there? I am not sure what else to check, or how to fix it, any help would be appreciated.

^ what? I dont really understand what you mean, but I upgraded my spider3 to a JSX, so i guess i can hear it because of the greater volume.
