If you're using a blues scale, then you should be able to just move the basic shape around into different keys. It doesn't all have to be on the 12th fret.

Dude listen to (crossout thingy)some(/crossout thingy) a lot of blues. That's the best way to learn style and licks. That, and know your scales.

What are some blues artists you like/would like to sound like? Listen to them and try leaning some of their solos off of tabs. You'll pick up stuff as you go. Skill and style are two entire different things to learn.
