I have attempted to build two custom homemade guitars. My problem is that I did not research the building process at all. So they are both crap.

In essence this is my first "real" guitar!
It is going to look like a single bladed axe.
Don't expect too much.
I'm not a professional Luthier!

Specs:
25.5 fender scale
2 humbuckers (Undecided brand)
wired in parellel with phase switch
Body - Aspen
Neck - Maple with Aspen skunk stripe
Bridge - cheap Strat tremelo type (don't know the brand name)
Nut - bone
Frets - 25 or 26

Please tell me things I need to add or change!

Here is the cad drawing:

You want 25 frets? Awesome! And I'm not sure if Aspen's a good body wood... You'll also have to decide on a fretboard wood, ebony, rosewood, and maple are common choices.
Gear:
Schecter Hellraiser Deluxe
Boss DS-1
Crate GTD65

GAS List:
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Roadster

I have succesfully started on the axe guitar and it is going quite well actually.

The neck needs frets, tuning pegs, a nut, the fretboard sanded down to a good neck radius, and the back to be curved.

The body needs routered, sanded, and painted.

Everything else, I still need to buy

Here are the pics!

this guitar looks sick! i suggest you make the edge of the axe(literally ) into a point, to make it a it less 'flat'
have you decided the pickups yet?
cant wait to see this finished, pretty awesome

I will!

I don't know much about different pickups. I know how they work, but the only things I have played are Strats so I don't know sound difference. I want something for kind of a power metal crunch.
Any suggestions?

I know it has been forever, but I still haven't finished the damn thing...
ANYWAY.. I have done more with the sanding and neck. And I know exactly what parts I am going to use; Custom homemade pickups, black tunematic bridge and black tuning pegs, paint will be all metallic colors, and brass Gibson Les Paul style Nut.

I plan on working on it more.

Well, On the edge of the X, don't leave it flat. It's hard to explain. Give it shape. Like a real axe. When you look at the edge, its like a triangle. Give it shape.

What tools would I do that with? I know what youare saying, but I don't want to screw it up.
