hey i wanted to get a few more tips on funk, im a beginner to the style, can anyone give me some chords or something else other then the typical form:

or just barring the bottom 3 strings

Thats a E#9 chord. Try this one, which is a regular E9 chord.

a--7--

Or this one, which is a E13 chord

e--10--

g--7--

It's more about the rhythm than chords. But m7, 7, 9, 7#9 chords are frequent. You can't instant-learn to play funk. You must listen to funk records, learn the funk songs, appreciate funk artists...
