Hi fellow members, this time I need help to identify what model is this.
Thing is, I am buying it from a guy. The owner says its bought at 2003 and he didn't know what model it is. So what I basically want to know is, what wood is it?
I hope it is not one of the Agathis version.

Here's the images:

The serial numbers lead me to this:

Guitar Info
Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant, Japan
2003
Production Number: 12434

Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation

Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation was opened in may 1960, they initially started manufacturing violins and quickly switched to classical guitar production. In 1962 electric guitar construction was started. Fujigen has a reputation for excellent quality and craftsmanship so the guitars they produce are highly regarded. They produce guitars via OEM for famous brands such as Ibanez, Epiphone, Yamaha and Fender (the import Special Interest Group nature model), G&L and others.

Since it was made by Fuji, it couldn't be that bad for the price. It's about USD150. (MYR 500).

Thanks in advance everyone.

Oh thanks for the info. I didn't know that.

Edit: I couldn't find any cataloque for basses of the year 2003. But I'll try other years before.

For those who recognise the wood grains/design, do share.

You've got to look in the Electric Guitar catalogues, there's basses in there.

Is that a worn away part on the front of the bass?

Because it's certainly not mahogany, nor basswood. Looks like it could be agathis.

Not that that's a bad thing. Agathis is not a bad wood by any means.

EDIT:

After looking at the wood a little more, it does look like mahogany. Sorry about that.
In the bass chat:

It's in the 2000/2004 catalogus, that's probably why you didn't find any info.

It's a Mahogany body, wich is a very soft wood, wich also explains the dents.

Thank you nutter for pointing it out. I found quite a list that matched it ranging from SR400-SR590.

SR 590
SR 590
SR 400

But it doesn't really matter already. At least I know a little and quite happy about it.

Thanks for the help everyone. Appreciate it.

Edit: Didn't read your reply just now sam_ofo. Yep, most probably that's the case.
