hi guys, im building my first pedal, its a smallbox fuzzface, anyways my question is that i have my stomp switch, that has six connectors, but they arent labeled or numbered or anything..i have the schematic for the wiring but i dont know which way the switch goes, how can i check to see which wire goes where?

also just wondering if it would be possible to wire in a led to turn on when the pedal is on??

this is the pedal if anyone wants to see what im talking about

As long as you wire the switch so that it matches the picture, you'll be fine. The only pins that matter on switches like that are the two in the middle.

And the easiest way to wire in a LED is to use a 3PDT switch (like the one you have, but with nine pins, not six: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=20 ) and then find a wiring diagram that tells you how to hook it up. It seems like it would be easy to do, but it always ends up to be harder. Here are the schematics I use for the LED: http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=35 (the fifth one). I would honestly wait for your second build to use a LED since it sounds like you've already bought the switch. 3PDT's are hard to come by and they're kind of expensive.

Hope this helped, feel free to ask questions if I wasn't clear on anything.

You can get 3PDT's for I think $4.50 from Effectsconnection, or eBay might be your friend. There is a thing called Millennium bypass wiring, but it's pretty advanced for a beginner.

Really? They're 10 bucks on smallbear

The R2 stuff is just component designators for if youetch your own PCBs. They really don't mean anything.

Yeah, I really like everything about smallbear except for maybe this. If I order from them (which I never have, but I'm sure I would once I start building my first pedal) I'll just see if the shipping makes a difference.

Lemme know how it goes. If I can get 3PDT switches for less than 10 bucks, that'd be awesome.

(Also check for 3PDT and 4PDT mini-toggles. They is also high on smallbear)
