I was wondering if any of you have this, and if so, what do you think?

I was thinking about getting it, and I was wondering how it operates.

If I wanted to lets say create something using specific notes, could I? For instance, lets say that there's a timbre I like (not a percussion timbre). If I wanted to, could I make it do something like a chromatic scale, whole-not scale or a simple major scale?

Yes there is a thing called a Piano roll and you can create songs using any notes you want and there is a variety of instruments.

Yeah, but it sounds like Madcap is an actual musician.. not the typical guy that sits in his basement making "music" with piano roll programs... If I'm correct >.<

hush you

madcap just try a trial if you're concerned, but it sounds to me like it has all you want. it's good to broaden your horizons and create something not using guitars

I think it's a great program, I've got a few short songs on my profile that I made with FL Studio if you want to see what you can do with it. Though I really only scratched the surface. Check out the W.I.P (which I actually haven't updated at all, so it's not actually a WIP anymore).

There's too many "Fruity Loops Studio 'musicians'" out there..

It's good if you want to create a decent drum backing, and the synths are nice too.
Just don't expect wonders for programming in bass and guitar.

god forbid people embrace technology and use software to make music. music made on FL is just as valid as music made by a band.

you should get the trial to see if you like it. It is fully functional except there is no save feature but you can export the file to save it if you are done and don't plan on editing it anymore.

the piano roll looks like this thing shown in the beginning

even if you don't buy it, it's fun to play with the demo
