Honestly, Ibanez basswood has great sustain, but other then the wood, the only thing really going to affect the tone of (cleans) is the pickups, which the stock pickups aren't bad, but swap em for Seymour Duncans, or any other good multi purpose pickup, except for any active pickups, they blow for cleans.

ibanez guitars are great for any sound. i own a grg07ltd-1, and i play really various music with it: bullet for my valentine, alesana, metallica...but i've also made it sound like santana, and you can even play acoustic songs with its clean sound. I highly recommend ibanez guitars.
