Well I was just reading the true fear and scary threads so I decided to make a creepy places thread. This thread is for creepy places you've been to or want to go, make sure to include a story.

So I live in rural Illinois and there's an abandoned Mental Institution about twenty minutes away in a town called Manteno. There used to be five to ten buildings to it but theres only one left standing. Apparently theres a system of tunnels connected all the buildings for whatever reason (emergency etc.) I guess a whole bunch of creepy **** went on in there including labotomies and hot/cold water treatments, not to mention its a ****in abandoned mental institution.

So one night around midnight two friends and I decided to break in and explore the place. We didn't have any flashlights so we had to use cellphone lights. Anyway this is what we found.

too lazy for links. But in nebraska, hummel park= little girls body found there, closed off, albinos gather at night, stairs will never count the same down as they do up.
And the black angel monument in iowa- just plain out freaky

Pripyrat, or the whole Chernobyl zone. There's nothing that creepy there, but it's the emptiness and the whole Soviet coverup thing that makes it scary.

Oh, finish the guitar, then spill whiskey and coffee on it. Lock in dank basement for several years, enjoy.

Some place called 'Okie Pinokie' or however the hell it's spelled isn't too far from here.

Yeah man have you checked it out? I guess in the Manteno one theres some old tunnels, my friends uncle used to go down there. He said one time he was down there a wheelchair rolled up out of nowhere on him, so him and his friends booked it. I'm sure he was drunk, but it's still creepy as hell.

Jerome, AZ was creepy enough during the day. Don't need to visit it at night.
I was surprisingly not creeped out at Gettysburg, once again during the day.
I think it's Interstate 10 from AZ to S. CA there's a lot of creepy abandoned hotels on the side of the road.

With or without clothes?

There's a set of stairs in a cemetery in Michigan. While walking up it, you feel noticeable temperature changes. It is said that it is caused by spirits.

dude i went there when i lived in Australia. that was probably the coolest/scariest place i went to. i remember there was this picture of a person wiht a kind of wispy white curtain almost next to them. the people thought it was the cables from teh camera or something and took a picture that looked completely different. there was also this cell u could go sit in that was pitch black with no windows where they would keep some convicts... creepy.

That looks pretty crazy dude. Any chance of you typing out some of the writing on those walls? I can't make it out.

I'm drawing a blank on creepy places. I'm sure I'll think of something though

We have the Rispin Mansion here,

http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/history/rispin-interior.htm

There are a ton of stories about ghosts and how it's supposedly rigged up with infrared tripwires linked to the police station, but i've been in there plenty of times late at night with friends and nothing exciting yet.

.. Or maybe I'm already haunted, I just don't know it yet.

oh man. last thanksgiving my friend invited me to hang out with her family, so i went. we went to her uncle's house, but he doesn't live there during the fall/winter because of his job or something, so we were there alone most of the time. the creepy thing was it was huge and cold, with very little furniture, and nothing on the walls. the room we slept in was the only room in the house that wasn't white; it was blood red. i dont know why but we were scared shitless the entire time.
Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the cake this morning!

yeah, that's an inside joke. i made it different colors and sizes to be obnoxious...

i actually took a trip to kentucky for the sounds of the underground show at Waverly Hill Sanitorium...apparently lots of crazy **** happened there. started out as a TB hospital and housed lots of patients who were abused, tested on and all kinds of stuff. Supposedly theres a tunnel under the place that they would take the bodes out from, people have seen tons of ghosts there and all. I want to go back and take a tour of the place sometime, seems creepy as ****.
