Tick tick tick
I find my place
Amongst grandfather clocks
Setting pace,
With their metronome hearts
Uneager to sway
Like a child with an eye for chocolate
Determined to get their way.

Still, I sit watching the sand flick away
Without sign of the ocean for artistic comparison
Still, I sit watching the sand tick away,
Awaiting political action.

Monkeys in a classroom
Faint for the act of disruption
Aged men pushing pens
And letters of destruction,
There's grass on the concrete
And concrete covering the ocean
We have more time to be loyal
But less for devotion.

Still, I sit watching the sand flick away
Without sign of the ocean for artistic comparison
Still, I sit watching the sand tick away,
Awaiting political action.
