this is a thread for all Ibanez RG series users to comet together and show our strength and love for this fine instrument which so often wields one of the best necks known to mankind: Wizard II. Discuss RG related projects, post pictures of your RG, Post your dream RG, and basically anything RG goes in here.

RG321-non prestige low quality, HH no pickguard, Hard tail
RG370-non prestige, low quality HSH no pickguard, Edge III trem
RG550-non prestige, decent quality, HSH pickguard, Edge Trem
RG570-non prestige, decent quality HSH no pickguard, Edge trem
RG760-non prestige, good quality HSS no pickguard, Edge trem
RG1570-Prestige, decent quality, HSH no pickguard, Edge Pro trem
RG2550- Prestige, Good quality, HSH pickguard, Edge Zero trem
RG7321-non prestige, 7 string, low quality, HH no pickguard, hard tail

all the number mean something so it's not hard to remember what model has which if you aren't 'special'

has anybody heard any rumours about the RG760 being reissued? I know the 770 is gettin reissued but my mate is adamant that a guitar shop by mine is getting some RG760s in (or at least their modern equivalent)

Cool thread. After I pay off my amp, if I can be disciplined enough, I'm wanting to get a guitar and one of them is possibly an RG1570 :p We'll have to wait and see.

Considering ordering an RG....I played an RGT42FXQM in store and liked it very much, only complaints were a tad bit of fret buzz.

However I really would like to get something with the active emgs so I am leaning towards ordering this one RGT6EXFX. Appears to be the same thing just basswood and emgs.

Unfortunately I cannot find one of those around to test.

it's actually easier IMO than remembering all the different strats.

give me a hardware spec and I'll give you a name for it.

My friend has an RG. He doesnt like it.
I bought a les paul knockoff starter pack as my first guitar and im kicking myself i didnt get the Ibanez jumpstart pack with the RG.
My friends is the same as that one. I love the feel of the neck and the frets are massive. It is so easy to play.

i left my Korean RG back in my country.
i don't know what model it is specifically as i was a newbie back then, but can you guys tell me

what bridge is anchored on my guitar (locking trem)?
what type of wood is the body made of (most probably basswood)?
what model is it?

it is made in Korea
black colored
H-H pickup configuration
locking tremolo
24 frets
fretboard inlays look like shark tooth
NOT a Prestige.

it breats 2 strings every week

I've got an RG1570 and I love it. I'm only 5'2" and my hands are very small so the neck was the main thing that attracted me to it. It's relatively low price tag helped too.

Something must be wrong with the tension. Is the bridge parallel with the body?

yes it is/was before the string snapped.

Well then I have no idea, I don't own an RG or have sufficient enough knowledge of floyd still bridges. Then again though, it is an Edge III, maybe ask other people who you see who own one if they have that problem?
#37
well a similar thing happened to my last ibanez. rg170 which was a piece of crap. maybe its cause i play it too much? i practice a hell of a lot most of the time and i only have one electric guitar.
#38
yeah the new GRGs with the reverse headstocks are pretty killer looking too. i just love the sharp curves that all RGs tend to have. its like a fender but less homosexual and a bit more hardcore.
