Because almost all of us on here are separated by states, countries, or oceans, online bands let individuals record parts to a song and organize them together as a real band would, but over the internet.

Definitely man. Check my profile and listen to Iron Maiden - Aces High (Final Ver. 2) and see what an online band can accomplish. No vocals yet, but it sounds pretty good.

No, the other guitarist created a backing track which included the cool orchestra-type sound and then he recorded his part. He sent me the mp3 and I recorded my part. Now we are waiting on the singer.
