mrwaffles, you COULD get dreads, I think it'd look quite cool.

I COULD but the process is incredibly painful and last time it took 10 hours. I think I'm gonna give it one more shot. If I can find a place that will actually do it, that is...

I actually kinda really want dreads, but the fact that I couldn't dye it would be horrible so I couldn't.

It took one of my friends fourteen hours to get his done. He had to cut them about five months later cause they started untangling. Make sure that no dreads overlap at the root and take care of them.

You've got nothing to lose, Hirschberger, if you grow it out and don't like it, you can always cut it. I'd say do it just to see how it looks and feels. May or may not suit the face, but I've always loved long hair so I'd say go for it.

Yeah this is what i was going to do i just wanted the almighty pit's opinion

If i do grow it out, how would i go about it? just let it grow? because i've never grown my hair out before.

Also another concern: I am a pitcher on a high school baseball team, and they might not tolerate the long hair, but that is a while away so **** it.

Ok, should I do dreads, I've got pics on my profile (forget the default one), it's a lot longer now though. I've asked some people and they say my hair isn't good for dreads since it's kind of straight, and it works much better with curly haired people.
I've got really thick hair if that helps.

There's no reason why you shouldn't try it. Go for it

Yeah, that's what happened with the original dreads, only I didn't wait 5 months. I waited a day before combing them out. I am willing to put in some effort to take care of them until they mature.

I say go for it, but do lots of research before hand. I recommend the DreadheadHQ Dread "Vlogs." You can find them on Youtube. They are funny and they actually help.
EDIT: Here's the first Vlog:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rjVWj1nUr0 Also, make sure you get your hair dreaded at a salon. Don't take chances on this one.

I'd say go for it; but wait until your hair is at your shoulders. IMO the longer dreads are the better. Well that's true to a point, atleast. After they get like half-way down your back, they lose the coolness.

Alright, I need the opinion of anyone willing (preferably a girl, and one who knows hair well, like Reva)

Right now my hair is a darker brown, and I'm very tempted to lighten it to a darker blonde/light brown. Something more like...

Would that look good?

okay i looked at pics...
i would say go for it but you might want to get a little color first.
and i mean that with all due respect and total seriousness,
but if you have light hair and light complection, it might kind of wash you out.
i would just lighten your hair gradually ((maybe with highlights)) until you get the color you're happy with.

My bangs are a little longer than they look in that pic. btw i was trying to wink but my eyes are too squinty for anyone to see

I'm fairly pale, and I have blue eyes.

Here's a (bad) picture of me, somewhat recently

EDIT: Haha, alright. I'll try and get some color.

Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd want to do it gradually or partially. I'd rather just do it all at once. And I don't necessarily want it real light, just a dark blonde at most.

Alright, I've got a question.

I've got shoulder length hair, kind of like Dave Mustaine's but a dark blonde. I like it, but it frizzes a lot. Any suggestions for controlling it?

I've been using some kind of frizz control shampoo for a while now, I'm not even sure of the brand, but its orange colored and it's in some kind of wavy bottle, almost like this

i would put a little bit of mousse in it. not gel or anything. like dove brand mousse will keep the frizz down, but it wont feel like there's any product in your hair...
but if you wanted it to be straight, then get a flat iron and run it through your hair to get rid of the frizz

Hmm...You can always try out different hair products until you find one you like. Also, as ForNow..WeToast said, mousse makes a lot of difference.

Quick question:

My hair is shorter in the front than it is in the back. In the front, it comes down to about my chin, and in the back, it's at/a little past my shoulders (I have a pic in my profile, but it's quite a bit longer than that). Should I even it up?

I understand it may be hard without a recent pic.

Do you want to grow your hair longer? If so, then go ahead and even it up. Otherwise, it's really up to you. Also, my mom has had her hair chemically straightened. I don't know the process or anything, but it does work very well. You do need to go in and do maintenance every 6 or so months.

At my local hair salon, it costs about $300. I don't know how much yours will charge.

I'm not entirely sure how it works to be honest. They put some stuff in your hair and leave it for about an hour or so before they wash it out. The downside is that is strips your hair of its natural chemicals, so then they condition it and whatever to put some of the moisture back in. That's pretty much the first part.

Because of the moisture thing again, you put some cream stuff in it once every day and you're recommended to only wash it once a week. If it gets wet, it will go curly again, that kind of sucks.

So when I wash it, I do all the normal stuff then I blowdry it straight. That makes it easier to straighten and then when you do put the straighteners over it, it just thins it basically and makes it look awesome

When my roots start to come in curly, I just straighten as close to my scalp as I can. I've had my hair straight for about a year now, but I've only returned once to get my roots done. So yeah, it lasts as long as you can make it last.

As for the person who asked about cost, the initial straightening cost me £30 ($60) and it took a couple of hours. The one time I went to get my roots done, it cost £20 ($40). To give you an idea how well it works, heres a before and after picture-

EDIT:
