well i'm looking for a nice lead tone, with a lot of blues but it need sot have a lot of gain so it's not too soft.

so i was thinking o ftrying to stack a blues overdrive over a distortion pedal, or just a blues overdrive over my amp distortion (Crate 2x12, 200w). yeah i know i should get a tube amp but i dont have the money right now, it's going to a backup guitar because the crate is getting me by with its wattage.

so what do you guys think about trying to get this tone?

and what do the marshal vintage modern heads sound like?

Running an overdrive through a disto, then into an SS amp?
Bad idea...

I say forget the backup guitar and get a good amp for blues.

And why are you asking how the vintage moderns sound like when you have no cash?
Anyways, to answer, I didn't like them. Fizzy and boring sounding. Some people think they're amazing, some buy them on the sole fact that Slash has a relationship with them, but tone is subjective. You may love it.

if i ran the OD in to the distortion then into the amp it would deff be on clean.
and i can get a blues overdrive pedal with a tube in it if that would help?

because i have no money now, but i am looking for a future tube amp, and i want it to be marshal.
