Does every single teacher and theory guitarist always assume. Do they alwayss assume that you already know something? Because it really sucks for a theory noob like myself when they all assume. Is there any sort of book, or teaching course that just starts from the entire beginning of theory and works it up?

Oh yeah.

Ass - U - Me.

It makes an ass out of you and me. =p
i assume 'guitar for dummies' is a good book

such a weird word if you think of it 'assume'
it's always smarter to say "Can you explain that to me... I have no idea what you're saying" instead of pretending to know then look even dumber for not asking. I always ask how to and when to do things. It's a rule of life, not just guitar.
