I am looking around for what pick ups to get lately and on this site i have heard much about these rockmonkeyguitar pick ups. now my question is how well do they fair against a well established brand such as seymour duncans? are they only bang for buck or do there quality actually match up to a seymour?

They're custom made to YOUR specs, individually by hand. That alone makes them better IMO.

well im not getting any custom ones i am looking at his swinging cool and swinging warm.
but i mean quality wise how do they stand up?

I replaced my Bare Knuckles pickups with Rock Monkey pickups because the tone and quality were that good. Seymour Duncans don't even compare.

CorduroyEW knows his sh*t about pickups for sure. He's helped me out a lot when I had questions about winding my own. Plus he offers a guarantee so there's nothing wrong with trying them out.

Besides, I believe in supporting small time builders instead of corporations - just look at my signature

The way I see it, everybody is into SD, DiMarzio, EMG etc for the name and the endorsements. Same goes with Fender, Gibson, etc. I'm all about helping/supporting the underdogs. There are great products out there from small businesses that far surpass the corporate norm.

Just because McDonalds and Pepsi are popular doesn't mean they're good for you. Ya know? Even big builders have some quality issues - that's the downside to manufacturing. If there's a guarantee, I say take the chance.

If you buy an SD, you stand the chance of not getting the tone you're after. However, Cord will rewind your pickups if you aren't happy with the tone, so you'll have perfection at the end. It's less like buying a pickup, and more like buying the right tone.

I have a great Satisfaction guarantee and lifetime warranty. If you aren't using my amp then you will get slightly different tone than what you hear after you download a sound clip. I feel that it is very important for you to be able to actually try the pickups in your guitar through your amp. If you try them and they aren't what you expected, send the pickups back and I'll rewind them.

is there a link to the site or something?
google didnt work

that's his profile on here.

To be honest mate i can't believe you actually thought seymours were better and rockmonkey was the "cheap option" I mean think about it like this: ormsby usually sells his guitars for about £2000 or something. Gibson sells certain guitars for a lot more then that but which one is better?
