Hey guys,
I got the John Petrucci's rock discipline dvd and thought I'd obviously try out one of the excercises.

I'm basically just doing chromatics up and down to the metronome (just a 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 pattern) etc.a nd trying to build me speed and accuracy while accenting the 4th downstroke each time etc.
Now when i bring it up to a fast speed i can usually go up and down okay except for one thing..my third finger just completely stays still and won't move to hit the string like all my other fingers do, I think this might be due to the muscle memory in my hand ebcause usually I play three note per string patterns but no matter how hard i try to concentrate on my hand while playing fast i still dont hit with my third finger.

Any thoughts?

Slow it way down, for a couple days, then bring it back up after about 5/6 days, you'll be able to do it near perfect.

thanks, i thought i might have to maybe slow down abit, its just frustrating when all your other fingers can keep up lol
