I put this thread in the pit and not a specific genre thread because I want all tastes to be welcomed.

The point of this thread is for a person to say their most influential song. A song that they think everybody should here no matter what the genre. I will go first. The point of this thread is so that people can find out and discuss what the pit thinks is good music.

By the way I used the search bar and didn't find anything.

I think Gray Pianos Flying by Shawn Lane is an incredible song an everyone should here it. Lane's ability to be technical but have so much soul is incredible.

Rational Gaze my Meshuggah Is incredible, every time I hear it I feel like it is my first time hearing it. The riffs are so heavy and incredible.

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

For me Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. I don't know why but it just lifts me! I heard it at a **** time in my life and it just made me feel better.

Also, Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah. I listened to it a lot but I only really heard it this time when I had just gotten home from hospital last year.

And A Perfect Circle's version of Imagine. It's what I listen to just before a show. Every time! It just gets me into a zone!

Yes, that song is pure genius, I love the solo, especially the sweep arpeggios.

Ludwig Van's 9th....
Listen to it, and the entire time keep in mind he was completely deaf when he wrote it. If this doesn't send chills down your spine, you ain't human.

The fifth is even more impressing in my opinion but this one is good as well. Most symphonies Beethoven wrote are amazing.
