Hey, I'm looking for common fingerings for the "B Chord" I'm trying to do it as close to open chords as I can (the A string second fret as the root note.) So far I'm playing it just as a power chord and just muting the high E string.

x24400 also sounds cool...or you could do xx4477 if you don't need the fullness from the lower two strings.

Otherwise the barre chord fingering PanHead mentioned is the primary way to play a B major in that position.

to get the 4th frets do you bar those 3 strings with your ring finger or do you hold one string each with your middle, ring and pinky?

Either way what's more comfortable for you, however it would depend on the next chord and you'd choose the fingering that makes it easier to move to it.
