Hey guys, I'm looking for a pocket amp.

This is the deal, I play in a ska band and we wanna jam outside on the beach and stuff, my acoustic just doesnt get the job done, I need as loud as you can get because I'm competing over (softly played) horns.

Thanks.

Isn't the microcube battery powered? Not exactly a pocket amp though.

I would go with a Roland cube street amp, it should work fairly well for you.

It's like the micro cube but louder and has larger drivers meaning it wont blow out the speaker as easily or break up at high volumes.

smaller amps wont be able to power over a horn and smaller amps sound very harsh, hollow, and tinny.

what's your budget?

because roland has a couple of battery powered street amps.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

Well i haven't seen any for over 200 USD, so like lets keep it under 200, cheap as possible would be good though, not made outta money.

but if you want to keep it close to a hundred then the micro cube is good.

you might look at a vox da-5. battery powered and gets pretty loud and has good tone and onboard effect that are pretty good as well.
