Agile, email Kurt, tell him what you want, and he'll give you a price

A good independent luthier can produce a great guitar for reasonable price, since you don't care about the brand I think that you should look at independent luthiers. Are you from Europe or USA?

USA

Well, I know some European luthiers and custom job companies (Polish, to be exact), they produce custom guitars on really competitive prices, but I'm not sure if they'd ship to USA. If you want a metal guitar, then Mayones is told to be pretty good at making them. Also, RAN (but it's not a Polish company)

Does that include custom shapes? Carvin comes to mind.

agiles are very cheap.... i think their most expensive model is a $650 doubleneck, but all their singleneck guitars are less than 500 i believe. A custom one shouldn't cost more than 1000, just because i can't think of a way to add $500 dollars of customizations to a guitar, unless you're going all-out.

Carvin's are almost always more than $1000, especially when you add things like figured tops, and electronics options. If you wanna save up some though, Carvin's look stunning in pictures i've seen and from the few i've seen in person.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
