LEVIATHAN

a mirrored surface stares back at me
a ripple stirs and awakens the sleeping beast
gaurdian of the deep for eternity
with eyes that gaze into the soul

from the dawn of time, to the apocalypse
spewing fire from his hideous lips
consuming blood, flesh and bone
destroying harvests, once seeds, lovingly sown

he strikes fear
into the heart of every man and beast
to bring him near
is to forfeit your life and all you love
when the sun has turned black
and the sky is in flames,
you may try to run, you may try to hide
but Leviathan knows your name

an ancient myth veiled in secrecy
childrens tales of burning gales
searing the world with tragedy
now the myth is alive, open your eyes

he strikes fear
into the heart of every man and beast
to bring him near
is to forfeit your life and all you love
when the sun has turned black
and the sky is in flames,
you may try to run, you may try to hide
but Leviathan knows your name

when the last is laid to rest,
and the last river boils dry
perhaps the fires will cool
and we'll see a blue sky

someday when we are old
and the embers grow cold
we'll share the memory
with our daughters and sons

and far beyond these years
none will know these fears
Leviathan will sleep again

I like it, especially the ...

"someday when we are old
and the embers grow cold
we'll share the memory
with our daughters and sons"

Very nice indeed
