There are tits in this thread.

Alright, now that you've stopped hovering, does anybody else get tired of that weird vocal effect that's becoming increasingly popular in rap and pop? It's incredibly obnoxious, mainly because of the fact that it's overused so much. It sounded unique when a few people utilized it, but now it's just... everywhere.

Not that I can even stand rap and pop in the first place...

Does anybody even know the name of the effect?

Yes, and it pisses me off to no end. It's all the mainstream shit that 17 year-old girls play at parties that utilize it, though. Luckily, actual, quality rap isn't affected by this disease.
I simply cannot take this god-awful place anymore. Goodbye to all the good people here. The rest can fuck off.

I know what you are talking about just because my friend is obsessed with rap
I can't even describe the effect but yeah, it makes rap+pop more annoying than what it already is lol

It is like an octaver

True.
But quality music is never affected by the latest fad.
Put that in your bowl and smoke it.

It's basically the side-effect of digitally tuning the singer's voices.

It's not a side effect... it's easy to TUNE a voice without making it go ape**** like hip-pop producers do.

They turn the knob lyke supar high lulz.

I agree.

And then everyone says they can sing soo well.
I'm thinking to myself, yeah, to bad they aren't actually singing.
