well ive been looking at guitars and whtnot, and it seems some of them have a neck that is "set-thru".
what does that mean?

i would give an example, but i cant think of any right now...
Fender MIA Standard Strat
ESP LTD Viper 407
Epiphone SG
Starcaster by Fender(modded with Bill Lawrence l-500-xl)
PEAVEY 6505+ (FJA transistor modd)
Peavey 65 watt transtube studio-112
Marshall 1960AV
Vader 2x12
ISP Decimator
MXR 10 band EQ

As opposed to a bolt on neck, a set neck is built into the body of the guitar making it look like it was carved out of one big piece of wood (it wasn't). It's supposed to give the guitar better sustain.

set thru neck goes all the way thru the body, w/ the sides (wings, horns) added on
epiphone gothic lp
ibanez arc-300
epiphone traditional pro lp

i believe that is just a traditional neck-through body construction.

set-thru is like schecters all-access heel...a set-neck (glued on to the body) thats shaved heel-less like neck through guitars.

I think its like a set-neck but goes deeper into the body but not fully like a neck-thru
maybe like the middle option??

bolt through / set neck / set-through neck / neck-through

?
