Good beginner guitars are Squiers. I have a $150 one (about 100 euros), and it's really a good guitar to practice with.

Says the person with an Epipone and ESP.

If you're looking for a nice beginner guitar, you can't really go wrong with a Squier or an Epiphone or something. You shouldn't worry about tone when you begin to play, so get something that'll last you a bit and is cheap.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
