Yeah, sorry about that first 1 min, I apparently do not know how to post the poll and thread at the same time ><

Other such players in next poll.

I think it's great I've heard of only 2 of these people... not. I guess I don't know a damn thing about bassheads. But really though, when you say "modern," do you really also package in the word "obscure" as well? I don't know how Wooten isn't on the list at least...
I love my...

Parker Nitefly Mojo - custom
Schecter 006 Hellraiser

Steve Harris, not only for his epic basslines, but also his songwriting abilities.
#15
Pete Wentz, I'm appalled you didn't include him.

Half of these are not modern bassists at all. In fact, only 3 if them I would class as modern.

Christ, keep your Pete "Lightning" Wentz pictures in your personal albums, or in the appropriate thread. Any other thread should not be graced with his presence.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Cliff Burton is modern?

Also applying to

Steve Harris - Older than my dad. Iron Maiden started in 1975
Geddy Lee - Older than my dad. Rush started in 1968
Stu Hamm - Older than my dad. Appeared on high profile recordings since mid 1980s
John Myung - Dream Theater formed 1985.

In fact, not one of those bands has been around for less than 11 years. Only 3 formed in '90s.

The poll is flawed.

Carlos D. His technique is probably the worst and his lines the simplest but I still love playing them and they work beautifully with the rest of the music.

This thread is flawed. Geedy Lee (one of my favourite bassist) should not be winning.
I dont care if Rush released S&A, it does not make him modern. Everybody knows
Chris "Fuzzinator" Wolstenholme should be the best modern bassist.

Just look at his moderness (lol)
