Im getting a new amp soon i play classic rock and metal. Ive been debating between an orange rocker 30, peavey 6505+ or a used marshall jcm800. I would like the amp to have a extremely large amount of gain but still sound good clean.

The 6505 is great for metal, but i'm not sure how well it would do classic rock
It's basically made for modern metal.
It doesn't have very good cleans but I've heard people say they're tolerable if you add a touch of chorus to them.
So I'd say go for the orange or the marshall.
If it we're me, i'd probably pick the orange.

JCM800's don't have a lot of gain, but will do the classic rock exceptionally well! You can easily get more gain with a pedal though!

I'd take the JCM obviously, but if you really want a lot of gain, maybe try the Peavey.

All are very good amps. The Peavey will do high gain the best and the Marshall and Orange will do Classic Rock better. I really don't know what to say If it was me, I'd go for the Peavey but then I like a lot of gain, even on Classic Rock. For a more traditionally 'Classic' tone I'd say JCM800 if you're happy with second hand and Orange if you're not.

What a guy; I've been able to recommend all three at the same time
