I really don't understand phobias like these. Some irrational fears like snakes or heights make sense because there is an actual danger there but pickles? What can they do?

If they make sense because there's actual danger, they're not irrational fears. Not all fears are irrational, just the...well, the irrational ones.

wow ... I wish my worst nightmares and fears in life were about pickles. That would make everything else seem relatively good, hence making life easier to bear.

But a phobia of snakes could be perceived as rational and yet it is still classified as a phobia (Ophidiophobia to be precise). Besides I used the term irrational fear to avoid using the word phobia twice in quick succession, quality writing and all that.

You'd think. It shouldn't be funny but you can't help but laugh.
It's like an old person falling over or someone getting hit by a football. It's not at all funny but the first time you see it, for some reason it's hysterical.

Ahahahaha.

Now I consider myself a pansy sometimes for having an irrational fear of bugs/spiders (irrational because even the ones that are completely harmless creep me out) but it's nowhere near this weird or this strong, I just get pretty uncomfortable. :/
