I have just bought an electric guitar 4 the first time and many people have been advising me to buy a new set of strings for the guitar.

My guitar is a Encore strat copy

Should I buy new strings? If so,...
What brand of strings should I buy?
What size strings should I Buy?

d'addario 9 guage
Gear:
PRS SE Singlecut, blue with stoptail (my baby)
Line 6 Spider III 75 (shut up)
Epiphone Les Paul standard
Cheapo Yamaha nylon string
even more cheapo Fender steel string acoustic

Ernie Ball standard gauge. Especially on a Strat copy, the strings that come with are generally not that great. D' Addario is also good.

You should replace your strings every 1-2 months.
My favorite brand is Ernie Ball.
9s or 10s are standard.

3-4 euros

England doesn't use the Euro. I'd say a set of Ernie Ball is about 2 or 3 pounds.

An average set of strings will set you back at least £5. Some shops do it cheaper, some overcharge, it's just a matter of finding the right shop for you, which is mostly an old family-run Guitar shop in an old street which most people don't know about.

get some d'addario 9-42 for £6, much longer life and better tone imo.
