You're both right

Default user titles go by post count.

User Title Minimum Posts
UG Newbie 0
UG Member 100
UG Senior Member 200
UG Fanatic 300
UG Freak 500
UG Board King 700
UG Addict 1000
UG Monkey 2000
UG Spammer 3000
UG Nerd 5000
UG Resident 7000
UG God 10000

And join dates don't get reset by bans. If by "like Feb 07" you mean the middle of April, then yes, you are right.

It's can be a contraction and genitive case.

If you cut down on these costs students won't learn so well, effecting the "quality"...

Custom user titles get reset to default by bans though, assuming he had customised it.

So just curious... how does what Frenchy said happen? How do those ranks appear?

That's what your user title defaults to when you're unbanned or if it's reset for any reason.

hey! frenchy's finally a man again!

but so let's say I have over 2000 posts (I think I do)
would this mean that if I defaulted my user title it would say UG Monkey? or is it contributions to the site (by points) rather than post count?\
I'm extremely confused....

It's post count.

Doesn't seem to work at the moment, though

My user title went to Administrator when I reset it, and another user's went to Registered User.

I look into.

Does there have to be a reason to reset it? Or if someone asks, would you?

so mine is supposed to say something else besides "Registered User" right now?

and mikko, you can default your user title exactly how you explained earlier. except there's a box you check I think.
