Would get this tone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rYgsTVtbb0

I can't afford the SLO-100 or his diaz, and don't have the room to crank them even if I did. He uses a zeeta Gold for recording, which is around 4 grand, but has an attenuator and stuff built in (see here).

I'm planning to save for a new amp, because I figure it'll take 4-5 years to get a decent amount of money so I can afford that zeeta, and I should be alright skillwise.

Any amp, any price, 30 watts or less that can nail that tone. I'm looking to see how much I need to save each month

Ok, I could get a classic 30 now. I'm talking about a nice amp that would be similar to the zeeta, to buy a couple years down the road. Sheesh, Price is no object and people still recommend classic 30's. But ac-30 is a probabilty, but I don't it's what I'm after

<------- Traynor YCS50.. It's a great value and great sounding amp.

Maybe check back in a couple years, when you are ready to buy and the amp you want may be much cheaper on the used market? I mean, it's a long way off to speculate.

Well, I'm trying to decide how much to save specifically for an amp so that I can buy it a couple years down the road, especially if it's going to be that expensive.

I don't want to save 3 grand and see that what I really want is actually 4, and this will be an amp that I'll be keeping for years and years, my main bitch if you will. And I'd like to get it new

Just get a Fender Supersonic 112. It's a 60 watts all tube amp and it is AMAZING. The cleans on this amp is wonderful and the overdrive is way thicker than many people think a Fnder can pull off. Try it out, it's one of the best amps on the market now.
