I didn't really think this belonged in GQ&A, so I took it the Pit!

Would a Marshall MG be good to amplify an E-Drumset, can you recommend me some good cheap amplification. I'm gonna be shelling out like 800-1000$ for one and I'm not gonna have any money for a 300$ amp, so would an MG work? Could I hook it up to my surround sound system? I'm not looking to play shows, just be able to jam with my friends without going outside and dying of heat.

I have no idea what would be good for it, but I'm pretty sure a cheap guitar amp would be horrible for the job.
